Where to see World Cup Games, Drink Cheap, Eat Well

Looking for a place to score some food and drink specials during the games? Keep reading:

  • Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington) will show games with free admission on their big screens. Next game: Friday, June 18, 9:30 a.m. doors. Final Game: Wednesday, June 23, 10 9:30 a.m. doors.
     
  • Bar Dupont (1500 New Hampshire Ave. N.W.) will broadcast each game throughout the tournament alongside breakfast, lunch and dinner meals and happy hour specials. Specials include South African Red and white wines. During finals, Bar Dupont will host special barbecues on the patio.
     
  • Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (8010 Towers Crescent Drive # 100, Vienna, VA) is taking a different approach to the coverage of the World Cup games. The restaurant, which is not open during the day, will record the games and replay them when the restaurant is open (pretty neat, right?). So after that long day of work, head to Chima to enjoy the large flat screen TVs, and the fine dining Brazilian bar environment.
     
  • Dukem (1114 U St. N.W.) will broadcasts the World Cup games on their 8 TVs. The city’s premiere Ethiopian restaurant will open its doors at 11 a.m., and happy hours are from 1-5 p.m. every game. Don’t miss out on the special African drinks.
     
  • Evening Star Café (2000 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria) will open its doors daily at 10 a.m. to broadcast the games.  
     
  • Ireland's Four Courts (2051 Wilson Blvd., Arlington) will broadcast every game, every day. Extra TVs have been added to the already exciting Carnival experience, and glasses of Peroni are $4.50 a glass on game days. Doors open at 7 a.m.
     
  • Jackson 20 (480 King St., Alexandria) will tune up TVs both inside and outside, and will offer $20.10 prix-fixe menus for brunch, lunch, beer and dessert.
     
  • Jaleo (480 7th St. N.W.) will open it doors on game days at 10 a.m. and specials will go on throughout the tournament. 
     
  • The Mayflower Renaissance Hotel (1127 Connecticut Ave. N.W.) will show every game live on their mezzanine. Enjoy sandwiches, sodas, beer and more as you sit and relax into the deep couches on the open balcony.   
     
  • The Rookery (2519 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.) will broadcast the England vs. USA game starting at 2 p.m., with food and beer specials. 
     
  • Star and Shamrock (1341 H St. N.E.) will open its doors at 9 a.m. to show the USA game June 18. Specials every game include $1 off Carlsberg beers. 
     
  • Urbana (2121 P St. N.W.) has temporarily installed a TV at the bar. When France, Spain, Italy or the U.S. wins, mention the "World Cup wine special" to get 25 percent off bottles from that country. The resto will also be serving two specially selected South African wines through July 11, the last day of the games.
