If you're heading via airplane to certain parts of the country this weekend for the holidays, or are expecting guests here in D.C., be prepared for major delays and cancellations.
American Airlines announced Friday morning that it canceled 28 of its 222 departing flights out of New York-area airports. That was 17 flights from LaGuardia, seven from JFK and four from Newark.
They were to be spread throughout the day starting at 10 a.m.
Other airlines are expected to have delays and cancellations, as well.
