Warm Up in Cool Downtown Frederick

Saturday, February 7th 5-9pm

Spark a little romance or just spend time with the ones you love during the February First Saturday - Fire in Ice, in Downtown Frederick.

The event will feature over 30 ice sculptures, each reflecting the spirit of the sponsoring merchants and offering a different interpretation of sculpting ice into a fiery design.

The new Ice Playground, located on the patio of La Paz Mexican Restaurant, will include a frozen sports wall, a chess board to challenge friends or family and a throne for ice queens and kings to have a picture taken. The playground is free of charge.

After playing in the wintry mix, warm up at one of downtown’s three marshmallow roasting stations.

Two ways to get around will be offered: carriage rides for $10 per person and free trolley rides.

Those visiting Downtown Frederick during the evening also will enjoy live entertainment, guest artists, exhibit openings and more than 70 independently owned and operated stores, galleries and restaurants that will be open until 9 p.m. or later on First Saturday.
