Soldier shot by someone dressed like Iraqi soldier

A soldier from northern Virginia was killed in Iraq while on a humanitarian mission.

Master Sgt. Anthony Davis, of Triangle, was shot and killed Monday near Biaj by someone dressed as an Iraqi soldier, InsideNova.com reported. Military officials said they do not know if the attacker was an actual Iraqi soldier or an insurgent in disguise.

Davis was part of a team that focused on delivering food and school supplies to the Iraqi people.

His daughter Diana said she also worked with him on a program to deliver donated soccer balls to Iraqi children.

Davis, 43, is survived by his wife, five children and a 4-year-old grandson.
