District residents can put their Christmas trees out for trash pickup starting Friday.
Trees without ornaments or tinsel will be picked up by trash collectors during a special collection from Jan. 2-11.
Trees not collected by Jan. 17 should be placed with regular trash and will be picked up as truck space permits over the following weeks.
Residents also can take their trees to the Fort Totten transfer station from 1-5 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays for free tree chipping.
