It's Thursday, and D.C. stores must be gearing up for a wild weekend, because tonight two events combine shopping with drinking.
At 6 p.m., Banana Republic launches its limited edition Mad Men collection by throwing complimentary cocktail parties at several D.C. locations (namely, Georgetown, Downtown, Tyson's Corner, and Pentagon City). As you've probably noticed, we've been a wee bit obsessed with the upcoming launch, so we're thrilled that tonight it's finally happening. We can't wait to get our hands on that leopard trench and to find out if Joan, Peggy, or Betty's style suits us best.
But if you'd prefer to wait out the mad (excuse our pun) rush, and shop the BR collection at a more leisurely time, there's drinking and shopping to do on a smaller scale too. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nana in Mt. Pleasant is holding a modelling session for the new in-house Nana line set to launch officially this fall. Happy hour drinks will be provided, shopping is encouraged, and who knows, you might even get to try your hand (or, um, face?) as a model.
