Tina Fey Scores Nation’s Top Prize for Comedy

There was no shortage of good laughs at the Kennedy Center Tuesday night.

Betty White joined the cast of Saturday Night Live and several other big-name comedians who stepped out in support of Tina Fey.
Fey was awarded the 13th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Comedy. She’s the third woman to score the nation’s top humor prize after Lily Tomlin and Whoopi Goldberg.
At 40 years old, Fey also is the youngest person to receive such an honor.
Her fellow comedians said she deserves every bit of spotlight.
“She’s the sweetest person,” said Steve Carell. “She’s really kind and generous and nice and very real.”
Betty White echoed the same fond sentiment. When asked what it was like to work with Fey on SNL, she immediately chimed in: “The reason you do those shows is to work with people like Tina.”
