Racing Presidents Get Walk-On Role in “The Nutcracker”

Nats' Mascots Back at the Ballet Dec. 14

Over the years, the Washington Ballet has worked to make sure their annual production of "The Nutcracker" is memorable. Sometimes, this means bringing stars on board.

For the second year going, they've got some other hometown favorites joining the cast: the Nationals' Racing Presidents.

"It was really hilarious because no one saw it coming [last year]," said Alyssa Porambo of the Washington Ballet.  "The audience went crazy."

This year, if you want to check out the Racing Presidents' turn on the stage, get a ticket for Dec. 14 for the production at Warner Theater (513 13th St. N.W.).

"In our history, we've always had local celebrities come on stage as walk on roles," Porambo said. Past guests have included George Stephanopoulos, Chelsea Clinton and NBC4's own Chuck Bell.
