Maryland's sharp-shooters elevate team to 76-53 win

WASHINGTON  -- Landon Milbourne scored a career-high 20 points and Maryland cruised to a 76-53 win over George Washington on Sunday night.

Greivis Vasquez added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Maryland in the BB&T Classic.

Adrian Bowie had 17 points and Eric Hayes had 13 for Maryland (6-2).

Maryland took control about four minutes into the game when Eric Hayes hit a 3-pointer on three-straight possessions in a span of 36 seconds to give the Terrapins a 13-4 lead. George Washington (3-2) had no answer as Maryland pushed the lead to 45-26 at halftime.

Maryland was 7-for-12 on 3-pointers in the first half, and finished 9-for-19. George Washington struggled from long range, making 4 of 15 3-pointers.

George Washington shot 30.8 (20 of 65) percent, its lowest mark and the lowest of any Maryland opponent this season. Maryland shot 42.9 (27 of 63) percent.
