Taste-fully Globetrot for $39

Because everyone's mouth needs some cultural diversity

ProChile and the Embassy of Chile have teamed up to bring you Chilean Gastronomic Week 2009, intended to bring exposure to their country's burgeoning cuisine and promising culinary talent. And for those having flashbacks to third grade geography, yes, Chile is that really long, skinny country in South America.

From June 8-13, join visiting Chilean chef Matias Palomo for a delicious prix-fixe dinner menu at local hotspot Ceiba (701 14th St. NW). Every night this week, Palomo will wow diners with dishes such as chilled corn soup with seared scallops and popcorn powder, and Chilean sea bass with red cabbage gelatine and curanto sauce.

The five-course meal runs a cool $39, but for an extra $20 you can also enjoy five Chilean wines, perfectly paired with each dish. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling Ceiba at 202-393-3983.
