Sprinkles Celebrates Birthday — With Free Cupcakes, Of Course

From 9 a.m.-9 p.m. customers can stop in for a free cupcake.

Thursday just got a little sweeter.

Sprinkles Cupcakes (3015 M St. NW) is celebrating its first anniversary in D.C. tomorrow by giving each and every customer a free cupcake. Trust us, we're filled with joy just as you are.

Customers have 12 hours, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., to redeem their free cupcake. Additionally, from 4 to 5 p.m., Sprinkles co-founder and executive pastry chef Candace Nelson will be on location to greet fans.

Nelson is also well-known for her role as a judge on the Food Network’s "Cupcake Wars."

“It’s a great feeling to have become such a popular part of the Georgetown neighborhood and greater D.C. community,” Nelson said.

Sprinkles has donated more than $150,000, both in cash and in cupcakes, to local charities in its first year.
