Sonar Baltimore Shuts Doors

Baltimore alternative music fixture Sonar announced yesterday that it would close indefinitely via Facebook and Twitter updates. "We here at Sonar regret to inform you that we are no longer able to operate as a venue", read a message on the social media sites. The closure, seemingly the result of a complicated dispute between current and former managers Daniel McIntosh and Lonnie Fischer, caused last night's Talib Kweli performance to move to the club Bourbon Street, and left all other scheduled performances in doubt. Sonar's liquor license expired on May 1 and an application to renew has not been filed, according to the Sun.
