A D.C. corrections officer has been charged in a human trafficking investigation involving a teen from Prince George’s County, Maryland, who ran away from home.
Frederick police said Luis Javier Privado, of Washington, D.C., was arrested after an investigation into reports of a possible abduction. Instead of an abduction, officers found a teen with two men in the 400 block of South Jefferson Street in Frederick, Maryland.
Initially, police arrested Abiathar Vance, 39, who allegedly brought the girl to Frederick to engage in prostitution at a hotel. During the investigation, police found evidence against Privado and arrested him as well.
Privado was charged with four counts of human trafficking. Authorities said he worked at a D.C. correction officer.
The teen victim was returned to her family.
