Scoop: Simpson ignores Eminem's parody

Jessica Simpson is among the celebrities on the receiving end of Eminem’s vitriol in the video for his song “Made For You.” In the video, Simpson is portrayed as quite voluptuous, and a cheeseburger is never far from her reach.

Don’t worry about her, though, she’s just fine.

“Of course Jess finds it annoying,” a friend of hers said, “but it’s not like she’s the only one who was singled out.” True enough: Few boldface names were spared. Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Palin, Britney Spears and Ellen DeGeneres were among those Eminem mocked in the video.

The only fire Simpson’s camp was putting out on April 8, the day the video hit the Internet, was about the current state of her music career. It was reported that Simpson was dropped by her record label, Sony Nashville. However, her rep noted that  not only was she not dropped, but Sony Nashville is not actually Simpson’s label after all.

“Jessica is and has always been an Epic artist,” said the rep. “She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She continues to be on Epic’s label.”

Rihanna’s dad angry over not guilty plea
On Monday, Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to charges that he assaulted Rihanna on Feb. 8, and Rihanna’s dad, Ronald Fenty, isn’t pleased.

“So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then?” Fenty asked Us Weekly.

Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, may be more open to a swift settlement. He told Us the songstress “would be pleased if this were over quickly.”

Brown remains in L.A. for now. Rihanna is lying low in her native Barbados while the legal drama plays out.

Oprah goes for the gold
Is former Chicagoan President Barack Obama’s star power global enough to bring the Olympics to Chicago in the summer of 2016? Oprah Winfrey seems to think so.

“President Obama’s philosophy is one of embracing the Olympic movement,” she told reporters April 6 at an Olympic gala at the Art Institute of Chicago, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.

Reps for Winfrey confirm she’s committed to supporting the 2016 bid.

“What I'm hoping is we can have a real, honest conversation about how great this city is and the possibilities it will bring not only for the citizens of Chicago, but the citizens of the world,” she said.

Octuplet mom’s reality show still possible
Nadya Suleman’s dip into the reality show pool is still alive despite the fact that the mom of octuplets recently claimed that she’s not courting any offers.

Why? It’s actually her father, Edward, leading the charge, according to Us Weekly.

As far Suleman’s possible venture into adult films, Steven Hirsch, head of Vivid Entertainment, says a $1 million deal is on the table.

“If she’s uncomfortable with the way she looks, we can provide a trainer,” he told Us Weekly.
