People Do Drugs at Phish Concert

Police say RV packed with cash, drugs

This just in: People do drugs at Phish concerts.

Unbelievable as it may sound, that's what Howard County police found out at the jam-band's concert over the weekend at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Police made 31 arrests at the Phish concert, and most of them were for drug possession.

Among those charged were four men who police said were selling drugs out of a recreational vehicle. Police seized the RV along with marijuana and $12,000 in cash.

Three other people were arrested on drug dealing charges, while 20 were charged with possession (including marijuana, nitrous oxide and LSD). Two were charged with second-degree assault on a police officer and two with trespassing.

Police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said more than 20,000 people attended the show and there was a strong police presence, including some officers who worked undercover.
