Just can't get enough of face-planting into frozen water? Super! If skating rinks aren't enough of a thrill for you, take heart. Western Maryland's Wisp Ski Resort will open for the season Thursday.
The Wisp Resort in McHenry said Tuesday that last weekend's snowfall and four straight days of good snowmaking weather have produced enough white stuff for a solid opening. Last season was one of the longest for the western Maryland resort. It opened Nov. 28 and continued operating into April.
