PRIDE, GREED, ENVY, SLOTH, GLUTTONY, LUST, WRATH. (Whoo hoo!)
What is it about those seven deadly sins we find so fascinating? This year, as part of the Capital Fringe Festival, SpeakeasyDC presents "The Sin Show" at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church (900 Massachusetts Ave. N.W.).
Sounds titillating, right? Well, except for the fact that it's totally happening, you know, in a church.
"The Sin Show," opening July 11, explores the good, bad and ugly effects of temptation on human behavior. The 90-minute performance will consist of stories of each sin in action by SpeakeasyDC's storytelling stars. The juicy tales are directed by Amy Couchoud ("Chocolate Jesus") and SpeakeasyDC director Amy Saidman.
We all know scandal sells, so this is sure to be a hot ticket. For just $15, treat yourself to a night of sin -- and if you end up having to answer for yourself at the Pearly Gates, try not to incriminate us.
