No Love for the Glove

Michael Jackson's glittery accessory up for auction

At one time, it was an emblem of the King of Pop –– now it's just another bauble up for auction.

The glittery glove that turned Michael Jackson from a singer to a one-handed icon of the 80's is up for sale, with no five-fingered discount.

It's just one of 2,000 items that the now-un-gloved one will auction off, including the gates of his Neverland Ranch. Jackson's possessions will be sold via an in-person and online auction, after they go on public display in April 2009, according to the AP.

Although one of the most successful musical artists of all time, Jackson has experienced increasing financial distress since being accused of child molestation, charges of which he was acquitted of in 2003.

A Bahraini sheik also recently sued him for allegedly not fulfilling contractual agreements. The sheik apparently advanced Jackson millions of dollars that the singer now claims were a gift.

Jackson is optimistic about his prospects.

"(I'm) looking forward to doing a lot of great things," he told ABC News. "I think the best is yet to come in my true humble opinion."
