WASHINGTON – A replica of the oval office at 15th and G streets in northwest Washington is part of what’s believed to be the largest inaugural store in the country.
The 5,000-square-foot store is wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor Barack Obama memorabilia from shirts to buttons to mugs and more.
Anthony Casolaro bought a baseball cap for his daughter for Christmas.
"She wants to go the inauguration, but I told her she may have to join the other 3 million people on the lawn," he said.
"First customer yesterday was a fellow from Germany who bought $250 worth because everybody back home said, 'You've got to bring me something Obama,’” said Jim Warlick, of Political Americana.
The store opened last week and is focused on inauguration week.
The owners have extra orders of merchandise in the works, but there is a good chance they could sell out.
The store plans to have a Web site launched by Dec. 20.
