New D.C. Park Goes to the Dogs

A new park is open in Northwest D.C. that has visitors wagging their tails! (See where we're going with this?) The Upshur Dog Park opened on Saturday for dogs to run and play leash-free.

The 10,000-square-foot park is the fifth dog park to open in the District, and the first dog park for Ward 4. It’s located along Arkansas Avenue near 14th Street.

The park will be maintained by a partnership between the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Friends of 16th Street Heights, the sponsoring community organization. For those who want to take their pooches to the park, it’s open every day until 9 p.m.
