Need a New Couch? Let Elizabeth Edwards Help You Out

"Resilient" author to open furniture store later this year

The cancer-stricken wife of former Presidential candidate John Edwards is already a best-selling author. Will she be just as successful at selling furniture?

The News and Observer  reports that Elizabeth Edwards has leased a space and is planning to open the furniture store in downtown Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Edwards' store, the Red Window, will be modeled after the charity store her mother managed in Japan, called the Red Door. Her store will feature similar styles and prices and will also be located near her home.

Edwards has been busy promoting her new book, "Resilience."  The book details some of her toughest moments, like her ongoing fight against terminal breast cancer and her husband's affair with campaign videographer Reille Hunter.

In the book, Edwards recounts how her husband told her of his affair with Hunter soon after he declared his candidacy for President in December 2006. The tour, so far, seems to be working.  "Resilience," is currently third on the New York Times Best Seller list.

While on her promotional tour, Edwards was able to take time out and plug her forthcoming furniture store. She told reporters that she has already purchased inventory for the Red Window, which is slated to open in October.
