Metro Cooking & Entertaining Show Heats Up DC

The Food Network's celebrity chef Paula Deen will be part of this years show.

The 2008 Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show (MCES) is coming to the Washington Convention Center this weekend.

This decorative event is here to educate and amuse cooking and entertaining enthusiasts, apprentices of all ages, venders, and suppliers alike. The festival will house over 200 companies ranging from specialty food companies, caterers, stationers, party planners, personal chefs and much more.

MCES provides exhibits to fit everyone’s interests. For example, if you are a fan of the Food Network, celebrity chefs Paula Deen, Bobby Flay and Giacla De Laurentiis will be there to illustrate innovative techniques to make your next meal, party, or craft a success. Other sectors include: Land O’Lakes Celebrity Theater, which will feature the 3 chefs, The Bloom Cooking Stage, NCCA Culinary Salon, tasting and entertaining workshops, beer, wine and spirits tasting, Domino Sugar Just for Kids area, and the Viking Food and Wine Tasting Experience.

The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show is from Saturday November 8, 10 a.m. to 7p.m. to Sunday November 9 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $25 for adults and $13 for children and free for the little ones under 12.
