Man Who Sued Maryland Governor Loses Job

40 Maryland State Jobs Eliminated

The job of an employee who sued Gov. Martin O'Malley's administration for wrongful termination last year is among the 40 state jobs cut this week, according to the Baltimore Examiner.

Nelson Reichart said his position as real estate manager for the Maryland Aviation Administration was eliminated.

The layoffs are part of the budget cuts approved by the state Board of Public Works this month.

Reichart sued O'Malley for firing him as assistant secretary to the Maryland Department of General Services. His firing came a day after he made comments to a newspaper questioning a land deal.

Shaun Adamec, a spokesman for O'Malley, said the job cuts have nothing to do with the people in the positions. Adamec said no one wanted to make the cuts.
