HOMELESS MAN BREAKS INTO JAIL FOR SHELTER
A homeless man convicted of breaking into buildings for shelter -- even going so far as to break back into the local jail had a bed waiting for him Monday night at the cold weather shelter. Early Monday, hours before Robert Vondell Jenifer, 23, was set to appear in Frederick County Circuit Court on burglary charges, his lawyer confirmed arrangements had been made if Jenifer was released from jail. The Falls Church City Police are seeking a man whose dog bit a pedestrian in the area of Sherrow Avenue and W. Cameron Road near Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in the City of Falls Church. The incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 4, at approximately 4:30-4:45 p.m. (Falls Church News Press)

While students at an all-girls school in Maryland were laboring to build bridges out of Popsicle sticks, their teachers were trying to build bridges for them to the male-dominated field of engineering.The stick bridges shattered under 60 pounds of pressure. 3D CHANNEL
Discovery Communications will partner with Sony Corp. and IMAX Corp. to launch a cable channel airing 3D programs and movies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed. The joint venture will launch the new 3D network in the U.S. in 2011. (Washington Business Journal)
