The day after wedding wedding Prince William in a priceless Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, newly married Catherine Middleton went off on her honeymoon wearing this $89 sleeveless blue pleated Zara dress topped with a cropped black blazer.
For those locals looking to mimic Middleton's look, unfortunately you're out of luck. We called the Georgetown Zara this morning, but alas, it was sold out Friday, the same day Kate wore it. The sales associate we spoke to said, "We've had that dress in for a while already. We sold out on Friday. We had like four hundred calls for it yesterday." And then the real news: "Call back in a week. We maybe be getting it back in."
Next we tried the F Street outpost, where we were told they'd never had it in. The dress is part of the "Woman" collection, only sold in Georgetown and the Montgomery Mall store (where it's also sold out).
Much as the the now famous $310 "Nanette" dress she wore for her engagement photo and the royal blue Issa dress she wore at her engagement announcement flew off shelves within days, we're betting this Zara frock is sold out around the country in a matter of days.
