Just Like a Tattoo, We'll Always Have … Tattoo Bar

Get in early to beat the crowds, steep drink prices.

Go before midnight and you can actually get a word (and an elbow) in edgewise. Go after midnight, and this '80s biker bar-themed spot may turn you into a pumpkin. It's hard to be hardcore, but it's harder when you're in a spot that's supposed to be hardcore  but you're surrounded by the buttoned-down, khaki'ed-up Hill crowd. And you realize you're on K Street. And it's all downhill from there.

Backing up: Tattoo Bar in a nutshell: Go EARLY, or else be prepared to pay for table service when it gets late. Happy hour offers decent prices. It runs Tuesday through Friday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. Signature drinks are $8, which other top-shelf liquor drinks running from $5-$7. If you do and up staying later (dress lightly and don't say we didn't warn ya), Tuesdays and Wednesdays have $5 and $7 drink specials all night long.

You won't find all that clubby house music going on here. After all, this is a "biker" bar, and that means rock 'n' roll, baby. A 90-inch plasma and other screens show music videos to go along with their '80s and '90s tunes. Some of it probably won't be as edgy as you might hope, but since you'll be rocking with a Hill crowd, that's probably to be expected.
