Inside Summer’s First Dubsplash Bash

The Dubsplash pool party kicked off on Memorial Day weekend at the Capitol Skyline Hotel, where it will take over every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Those behind the Eighteenth Street Lounge and Marvin partnered with Capitol Skyline Hotel to put together a laid-back pool party, Dubsplash, which will be happening Saturdays and Sundays all summer long from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

"Someone can always come and see somebody who looks like them and is like them and that's important," Scott said. "Then [this pool party] becomes an extension of your home. That’s what we want people to treat it as." Approximately 1,500-2,000 people are expected at Dubsplash on any given weekend.

General admission is 15 bucks, with food and drinks extra. Food trucks parked nearby, such as Fojol Bros. and Sweetgreen, offer swimmers a good variety.

Dubsplash is focused on harvesting local talent, Scott said. DJs include regulars from Marvin and Eighteenth Street Lounge, such as Jahsonic and Thievery Corporation, which is set to play later in the summer.
