Just when you thought you were safe from British royal coverage, here's some more: Prince Charles is in D.C. today and tomorrow for several food-related events.
This afternoon, he'll be touring Common Good City Farm, a self-described "community-based urban food system" in LeDroit Park that's dedicated to healthy food production and environmental sustainability. Following the visit, Common Good is hosting a celebration at Big Bear Cafe from 6 to 10 P.M. On the menu: Custom julep cocktails with farm-raised mint, live music, and starter seeds for the first 100 attendees. Tickets are $20 at the door and will benefit the farm.
Tomorrow at 10:30 A.M., the Prince of Wales will give a keynote address at a Washington Post Live conference, The Future of Food, about agricultural sustainability. Other speakers include White House chef Sam Kass; Washington Post food and travel editor Joe Yonan; author, poet, and farmer Wendell Berry; and U.S. Senator Jon Tester.
