Have a Happy, Happy Chanukah!

Hot latkes and doughnuts. Drool...

First the National Christmas tree got lit. Now it's the National Menorah's turn.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel will light the menorah Sunday afternoon in celebration of Hanukkah.

Today's ceremony marks the 30th anniversary of the first National Menorah lighting in 1979.

The Three Cantors and the U.S. Air Force Band will be performing, and there'll be menorah kits, dreidels, latkes and doughnuts too. Drool...

Hanukkah commemorates the rededication of the Jewish Second Temple in Jerusalem in 164 B.C. after its desecration by the Syrian Greeks. The eight-day festival began on Friday.

To get your free tickets for the 4 p.m. ceremony, R.S.V.P. online at Chanukah on the Ellipse or call 202-332-5600.
