Glam Slam: Valentine's Day – Kiss & Makeup!

Valentine’s Day is just three days away… and we know you’ll want to look your best. So who better to take a cue from than Jennifer Aniston, who showed up for the premiere of her new film “He’s Just Not That Into You,” looking fresh faced and glowing with gorgeous rosy cheeks… perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Celebrity Makeup Artist Angela Levin, who often works with Jennifer, created the look. “I went to see Jen to get her ready for the premiere. She was in her new house and I saw a very content, powerful, sexy yet accessible woman… having that simple elegance and accessibility is what inspired us.”

Angela wanted Jennifer’s skin to be dewy and natural, so she prepped her skin with Chanel Hydramax + Active Moisture Cream. Next she applied Cle de Peau Beaute Refining Fluid Foundation in 030. “Using a brush, I dab it into four or five areas on the face. Then I take a sponge or clean brush and blend it into skin.

It’s not evenly distributed and it’s a very thin layer.” After the foundation, Angela used a little bit of Sephora’s bronzer for glow. Using a big, fluffy powder brush “draw a T with the brush from the forehead to the nose and then the center of the nose out to each ear. You get a lovely frame and you look like you have a glow but it doesn’t darken you up too much.”

”Cheek color is a big thing for me… I always like rosy cheeks. I think that’s important for Valentine’s Day,” Angela says. To achieve that rosiness, Angela actually used lipstick instead of blush! “I gave her a little bit of stain using lipstick which won’t go anywhere and it looked really natural. I took Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Fire and rubbed it on the back of my hand. Then I tapped my finger into it and then I tapped the apples of the cheek.”

For the eyes, Angela started with Shu Uemura Cream Eye Shadow in the beige shade in order to create shine. “I wanted to go with warm colors, coppery gold colors. She wouldn’t look heavily makeup but had glamour.” She achieved that by applying Chanel Soft Touch Eye Shadow to the outer half of Jennifer’s lids and then Tina Earnshaw Eye Shadow in Bitter Sweet ($20) on the creases. She finished off with Chanel Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre. Finally, to create lashes that didn’t look too intense, she used two coats of Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Noir.

For Jen’s lips Angela decided to go pretty in pink starting with a sweep of Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited lipstick in PK322, which is a warm, sheer pink. Finally, Chanel Glossimer lip-gloss in Jaipur added the perfect shine and iridescence! Angela recommends a light lip color on Valentine’s Day! “Red looks great when you put it on but after a kiss it doesn’t look so great anymore!”
