The weekend's rain is finally tapering off, but showers will linger until the end of the day. Temperatures will remain stable in the upper 60s to near 70.
Expect a gradual clearing Sunday night, with Monday morning temps in the low 50s.
After storms overnight, rain on Sunday was heavy at times in some areas. Anywhere from 1 to 1.75 inches fell at Reagan National Airport between Saturday and late morning Sunday, and some other areas got more than 3 inches.
A flood warning remains in effect for the following areas until 6:45 p.m. Sunday: Carroll and Frederick counties, Maryland; Clarke County and the city of Winchester, Virginia, and Jefferson and Berkeley counties, West Virginia.
Be aware of any ponding on roadways, and remember to never drive through standing water.
An earlier flash flood watch was called off for the D.C. area.
The good news is that we'll have dry skies for the start of the work week, with plenty of sunshine and a warmup.
