Fashion Takes Flight

DC celebs strut their stuff at an all-local fashion show.

You wanna feel like a local celebrity? Then we suggest you go hang out with some. Snap up tix to Fashion Takes Flight, a fashion show featuring DC locals this Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 7-11 p.m. Plus, your admission fee totally goes to charity! (See, you're acting like a celeb already.)

Hosted by Kate Michael (AKA, Miss DC 2006 and the author of a popular local blog, K Street Kate), this event showcases local celebs-turned-models such as Tony Hudgins, Katherine Kennedy and Miss DC 2008 Kate Marie Grinold. And did we mention all those current and former Redskins cheerleaders? 'Cause, yeah, they'll be there too. (See, we told you this would be a good show.)

It's all happening at L2 Lounge in Georgetown (3307 Cady's Alley N.W., Suite 400) to benefit Luke's Wings, a charity that helps the families of wounded service members be at their sides while they're hospitalized or recovering. Your tax-deductible donation ($25 if pre-purchased, $35 at the door) grants you admission, hors d'oeuvres and L2 drink specials. Plus, you'll get a rather stylish preview of upcoming spring and summer collections from DC designers and boutiques such as Bea Couture Shoes, Evelyn Brooks, Mervis Diamond Importers, Urban Chic, We One You Two and Wink Boutique.

Yeah, feeling like a celeb pretty much rocks. But those limos waiting outside? They're probably not there for you. Sorry. We hate to break that to you.
