It seems that everyone is getting into the farm-to-table game these days. Eat Local First, a D.C.-based local food campaign, is launching the city's first-ever farm-to-table restaurant week, running July 9 through 16. The roster of participating eateries and shops, all of which will offer specials each day, ranges from high-end Poste Modern Brasserie to yogurt purveyor Yola. Check out the full list here.
Other notable events taking place throughout the week include a local pig roast at Local 16 on July 10; a local foods talk at Busboys and Poets on July 14 presented by Ris' chef and owner, Ris Lacoste; a vegan food demonstration led by Jim Cooney of Java Green and Cafe Green on July 14; an edible urban garden tour hosted by Loulies.com on July 15; and a back-road foraging tour through Mt. Pleasant on July 15, followed by a 'foraged cocktail' event that night at The Gibson, both of which we profiled last week.
