Antique Alert! “Roadshow” Is Coming

PBS reality show looking for people to participate in local taping

If you have some old antiques taking up space in your home, now’s the time to dust them off.

Antiques Roadshow,” the hit PBS show, is coming to Washington.  The nation’s capital is one of six cities chosen to be the setting for an upcoming episode.

The show features experts who offer free appraisals of antiques and collectibles.  On August 21, it will film at the Washington Convention Center.

If you have an antique or old heirloom with a great story behind it, “Antiques Roadshow” wants to hear from you.  Showcase your piece in an original home movie, no longer than two minutes.  Three video submissions will win a pair of VIP tickets to attend a live taping of “Antiques Roadshow.”  Your video could also be chosen for national broadcast later this year.  To submit a video visit http://www.weta.org/local/wetaevents/antiques.

If you’d like to attend the show, free tickets are being distributed through an online raffle.  All you need to do is bring one antique.  Visit http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/tickets.html for more info.  The deadline to enter for tickets is April 19.
