Doug Collins Refers to Bradley Beal as “Jeremy”

The Washington Wizards won again Sunday (they're a solid .500 since Jan. 1, improving from 4-24 to 19-39) in a 90-87 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers at Verizon Center.

John Wall scored Washington's last six points to erase a late 87-84 deficit, but the biggest news broke right before Wall's one-man run, when Bradley Beal went down and had to be carried off by Jan Vesely and Chris Singleton.

Or was it "Jeremy Beal"? Doug Collins isn't sure.

The current Sixers coach/former Wizards coach referred to Bradley as "Jeremy" during his postgame press conference. As Collins fielded questions, Beal happened to pass through on crutches. Collins then stopped his presser to address Beal.

"Just one second," Collins told reporters. "Hey, Jeremy. I mean Bradley. Bradley. I hope you're OK, man. Sorry. OK? You're a hell of a player, man."

Afterwards, Collins poked fun at himself.

"There is a Jeremy Beal, isn't there?" Collins said. "That has to be. If not, that's his new nickname. No, I shouldn't be making fun at this period of time. We should all pray for that young kid. He's a tremendous player."

To answer Collins's question, there is a Jeremy Beal. He is a defensive end for the Denver Broncos.
