Dogs of War Cause National Rabies Scare

An 11-month-old dog that was adopted by a soldier in Iraq and was recently brought to the United States as part of Operation Baghdad Pubs run by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals International was euthanized after it was diagnosed with rabies. Now the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention fear that dozens of animals brought back from the war and spread across the U.S. could lead to an outbreak of rabies in this country.
