DC's UCB Gets to Go-Go at VMAs

Fellow DC'er Wale will be there too

Washington's go-go sound is getting a big boost Sunday night when UCB hits the stage at the Video Music Awards.

The group, along with fellow DC'er Wale, will be the house band for MTV's 2009 awards show at 9 p.m., according to Crack of Dawn.  They'll be supporting Kid Cudi, All-American Rejects and Jazmine Sullivan, among others.

Wale and UCB have already been practicing their "presumptive set for Sunday night, a series of originals and covers that'll definitely keep the VMA crowd rocking all night, like their funky takes on Britney Spears' 'Womanizer' and Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida,'" MTV reports.

Between The Real World setting up camp in Dupont Circle and DC dance group Beat Ya Feet Kings getting their chance on America's Best Dance Crew, Washington's really making its mark on MTV.
