WASHINGTON – A woman was fatally stabbed in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County, Virginia, early Monday morning.
The Fairfax County police say someone called them just before 5 a.m. to report that they’d heard screaming and saw a woman lying unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 8400 block of Diablo Court.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the woman was 37 years old, but they haven’t released her name yet. They say a heavy-set man wearing all dark clothing was seen leaving the scene, and don’t believe the stabbing was random.
