When to Ship Christmas Gifts to Military Members Overseas

WASHINGTON — Planning to send a holiday care package or gifts to a loved one serving in the military? Here are all the dates you need to keep in mind to make sure your package makes it there in time for Christmas.

The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday published a timeline detailing when you need to have packages in the mail to be sure they arrive by Dec. 25.

You still have plenty of time if you plan on shelling out a little more for speedier shipping options.

The Postal Service offers a special Priority Mail Express Military Service for shipping to most military post offices.

The Postal Service is also offering a discounted price of $16.75 on its largest Priority Mail flat rate box to send mail to military post offices.
