Virginia Stocking Streams With Trophy Trout

ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Virginia is stocking hundreds of trophy-sized fish in fee-fishing areas.

The Roanoke Times reports that the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries added 400 brook, brown, and rainbow trout at Big Tumbling Creek in the Clinch Mountain Wildlife Management Area.

The state is also adding fish at Crooked Creek in Carroll County.

Anglers can pay a daily fee to fish at these areas during certain parts of the year. Children 12 and under can fish without the permit as long as they are with an adult who has one.
