BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore’s bicycle-sharing program, hampered by thefts and maintenances woes, is shutting down for several weeks.
Transportation director Michelle Pourciau tells The Baltimore Sun that Baltimore Bike Share will close Sunday. She says additional locking equipment will be installed on the docks, and a maintenance backlog will be dealt with.
The program launched in 2016 with 200 bicycles for rent at 20 stations.
Pourciau says the program will reopen on Oct. 15.
