RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Latest on the scheduled execution of a man who killed a hospital security guard and sheriff’s deputy in 2006 (all times local):

The daughter of a sheriff’s deputy killed by a Virginia death row inmate says she has asked the state’s governor to spare the man’s life.
Rachel Sutphin is the daughter of Eric Sutphin, a sheriff’s deputy who was shot by William Morva in 2006.
Morva also killed a hospital security guard, Derrick McFarland.
Morva is scheduled to receive a lethal injection Thursday.
Sutphin said in an email to reporters Wednesday that she is “against the death penalty for religious and moral reasons.”
She said she “has fought and will continue to fight for clemency for all death row inmates until Virginia declares the death penalty unconstitutional.”
Sutphin says she has sent a letter to McAuliffe showing her support for clemency for Morva.

Two United Nations human rights experts are calling on Virginia’s governor to halt the execution of a man who killed two people in 2006.
William Morva is scheduled to be executed Thursday for killing a hospital security guard and sheriff’s deputy after escaping from custody. Morva’s attorneys say jurors weren’t informed that his crimes were the result of a severe mental illness that prevents him from distinguishing between delusions and reality.
Among those urging McAuliffe to stop Morva’s execution are UN Special Rapporteurs Agnes Callamard and Dainius Puras. The human rights experts said in a statement Wednesday they are “deeply concerned” that Morva’s trial “did not meet fair trial safeguards.”
Several state lawmakers are also asking McAuliffe to spare Morva’s life.
