CHESTERFIELD, Va. (AP) — Chesterfield County police officers and firefighters are raising money for the family of a Virginia state trooper who was shot and killed this year at a Richmond bus station.
The Chesterfield County Police and Fire Departments are holding a charity softball game on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Matoaca Park. They’re accepting donations to benefit the family of trooper Chad Dermyer.
Authorities say Dermyer was killed March 31 by a gunman at a Greyhound bus station while police were holding a counterterrorism training exercise. He is survived by his wife and two children.
