BALTIMORE (AP) — Normal train operations have resumed in the Baltimore tunnel where a freight train derailed earlier this week.
CSX announced in a statement that operations resumed Thursday night in the Howard Street tunnel.
The 124-car train was headed from Philadelphia to Cumberland, Maryland, with eight locomotives when it derailed early Monday. No one was injured and officials said there was no danger to the public. One derailed car contained acetone, a flammable solvent.
The last railcar was removed early Thursday and crews repaired damage to the tracks.
CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle says the investigation into the cause is ongoing.
