Pregnant Woman Stabbed in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON — Police arrested a man they say stabbed a pregnant in Montgomery County Wednesday.

At about 3 p.m., a man stabbed a pregnant woman in a wooded area of Kensington near the 3000 block of Upton Drive. Nearly an hour later, police arrested a suspect at the intersection of Palmira Lane and Dauphone Street in Aspen Hill — about four miles away from the original scene, said Montgomery County Police spokesman Paul Starks.

When police approached the suspect, he tried to run, and police used a stun gun to subdue him, Starks said.

Emergency crews transported the woman to an area hospital. She has serious injuries, but is expected to be OK, said Starks.

The victim and the suspect, whose name has not yet been released, possibly knew each other, he added.
