Police Seek Suspect in Shooting at Prince George's Co. Mall

WASHINGTON — A man was shot in the parking garage at a Prince George’s County mall Tuesday, and police are searching for the gunman.

The shooting happened in a parking garage at the Shops at Iverson, located at 3737 Branch Ave. in Temple Hills, Maryland. One man shot another man, and the suspect fled the scene, police said.

The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

The shooting, which police said does not appear to be random, prompted lockdowns at nearby schools. Hillcrest Heights Elementary School and Jessie B. Mason Regional School are on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution,” police tweeted.

Police are at the mall searching for the gunman. A suspect description has not yet been released.
