WASHINGTON — Police are looking for the suspects involved in an overnight killing of a 24-year-old man who was staying at a local motel.
The 911 call came in about 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a disturbance in the parking lot of the Days Inn at 8040 13th Street in Silver Spring, Maryland.
“First responders located an adult male suffering from trauma to his body in one of the rooms,” said Captain Paul Starks with Montgomery County Police.
Starks said investigators are trying to piece together why the victim left his room in the middle of the night and was assaulted by a group of suspects.
He also said the victim did manage to get back to his room but later died at the hospital.
Investigators are holding back details about his identify until his family is notified, Starks said.
According to police, they are looking for witnesses to come forward with any information in this case. Anyone with information regarding this case can contact the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070, or call Crime Solvers Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
Starks said the motel parking lot is bordered by condos and apartments and that residents may have heard or seen something but have not reported it to police.
A $10,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in this case.
Starks also said tipsters can choose to remain anonymous.
