Police Say Man Tried to Abduct Woman in a Manassas Park

MANASSAS, Virginia — The City of Manassas police are investigating an attempted abduction after a woman reported a disturbing incident to officers this week.

The 35-year-old woman says she was walking in Stonewall Park Monday afternoon with her son when a man came up to her and tried to grab her.

According to a police report, the man then ran away into a wooded area after the woman yelled.

Both the woman and her son were unharmed.

Investigators are asking the public for any information as they try to track down the man responsible. He’s described as Hispanic and about 30 years old, with short, dark hair, dark eyes, a medium build and a dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a white tank top with light blue jeans, police say.

Anyone with information is urged to call Manassas City police at 703-257-8092.

You can also call Manassas City/Manassas Park Crime Solvers, which is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. The number for that group is 703-330-0330.
