WASHINGTON — A 15-month-old girl from the Fairland, Maryland, area was last seen on Saturday with her father, police say. Now, Montgomery County police and family members are looking for the missing child and father.
Police say Janel Aaliyah Mercado was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday with her father, 26-year-old Terrance Faison, at his residence in the 5300 block of B Street Southeast in D.C.
“Family and detectives have been unable to contact or locate Faison since that time,” Montgomery County police said in a press release.
Police describe Mercado as an African-American girl with black hair and brown eyes, weighing around 20 pounds. Faison is described as an African-American man with black hair and brown eyes. He is around 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 258 pounds.
Police say the family is concerned for the girl’s welfare.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the missing girl or Faison can call 911.
