BALTIMORE (AP) — A driver suspected of crashing a car with 17 pounds of marijuana inside has been arrested after police say he tried to flee the scene using an Uber.
Baltimore police say 32-year-old Brandon McDaniel was taken into custody on Monday. It’s unclear what charges he faces.
Police were called to the scene, where they say an officer found an empty vehicle that had crashed into a light pole.
Witness told the officer that the driver ran away.
Inside the crashed car, police say they found 17 freezer bags of marijuana, each weighing about a pound.
Police say the suspected driver was found and arrested a short time later trying to leave the area in an Uber.
It’s immediately unclear whether McDaniel has an attorney.
